ABOUT MONICA

MY JOURNEY

Self-growth often begins when life breaks us open — sometimes with a gentle tap on the shoulder, and other times with a forceful blow that changes everything. We are continually being invited into a deeper, a more authentic connection with ourselves.

This was my moment.

I felt as though life was happening to me rather than through me. My husband, and father of our three teenage children, passed away after years of struggling with addiction. Ultimately, his battles claimed his life.
When he died, I felt completely shattered — consumed by grief, fear, sadness, and loss. I felt lost and uncertain on how to move forward. The love for my children created a fierce determination within me. Addiction had already taken one parent from them, and I refused to let my grief take the other, though I had no idea where or how to begin healing.

I first discovered Bill McKenna, co-founder of Cognomovement, through Gaia TV. The way he spoke about energy, eye movement, and the connection to the nervous system deeply resonated with me. I learned he was offering a workshop nearby, and decided to attend.
That experience began loosening the grip of fear I had been carrying for so long. Later, I worked with him one-on-one, and with every session, I found myself releasing more of what was no longer serving me. The more I moved my eyes and tuned into the sensations within my body, the more peace and ease I began to feel.

For the first time, I became aware of the energy and emotional sensations that had kept me trapped in fear. Through this process, I was able to release those stuck emotions, creating space for expansion, healing, and freedom. Moving my eyes into places of inspiration allowed new ideas, clarity, and calm to emerge — feelings I had not experienced in years.

What began as a desire to become a better parent slowly transformed into something much deeper. I realized I wanted to feel free, simply because I deserved to feel free, light, alive, and dare I say, happy. Happiness is a glorious sensation, a birthright we all possess, yet so often we push it away, feeling unworthy, disconnected, or unable to fully allow ourselves joy.

Day by day, I felt fear loosening its hold on me, gradually being replaced by happiness. Then one beautiful day, I was finally able to say with certainty, “Yeah… I feel good.”

Feeling worthy of honoring and valuing my own joy.

MY APPROACH

I believe the body holds onto emotional experiences, stress, grief, and patterns that can leave us feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or emotionally stuck. Through movement, breath, focused awareness, and sound healing, I help create space for those patterns to gently release so the nervous system can return to greater balance and ease.

My work combines CognoMovement, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), tuning forks, and sound bowls to support emotional healing and deeper self-connection. By engaging both the body and mind together, these practices encourage awareness, integration, and new pathways for healing and growth.

This work became deeply personal to me after experiencing profound grief and emotional heaviness following the loss of my husband. Through CognoMovement, I slowly began releasing not only grief, but also the thought patterns and emotional weight that kept me disconnected from joy, self-love, and inner peace.

Today, I hold space for others who are seeking healing, clarity, balance, and a gentler way forward.
